The Squalicum Valley Community Association was formed in July 2006 in response to a proposed development of 600 forested acres on Squalicum Mountain. This development would significantly degrade a portion of the Lake Whatcom watershed, and destroy the rural character of our Valley.
The Association is composed of a group of dedicated individuals who are working toward:
- Protection and preservation of the rural character of the Squalicum Valley and its environs.
- Protection and preservation of the Valley’s water resources and those of neighboring Lake Whatcom.
- Protection and preservation of forest lands surrounding the Valley from incompatible uses, and promotion of sustainable forestry practices on those lands.
